1. What substrate are using and how much amount?
I am using ADA Amazonia or Breeder Soil. Amount of soil used per tank varies.. But on average for a 60x45x35cm tank, I will be using about 8L to 12L of soil.
2 What filtration is best for you?
Filtration depends a lot on what is the type of breeding you are doing as well. Right now I am using canister filtration but all my tanks will have a secondary filtration using sponge filter (air driven). I believe the bio-media inside the canister is also very import_ant, so I will choose the kind which suits me.
3 How often are you doing water changes?
I am doing a weekly 10% water change regime per tank.
4 Do you add water regularly to some bacteria?
Yes, bacteria is added after every water change to stabilize and maintain the tank
5 What minerals are adding?
I am dosing in minerals from LOWKEYS to remineralize my water.. Normally I am using Great Mineral Type S, Super Fluvo and lastly will be Amino Acid Vital… These 3 liquid will remineralize my water to reach the correct parameter as well as maintain my shrimps
6 What are the water parameters (temperature, ph, gh, kh, tds) in your opinion are the best?
There is no 'best' parameters actually.. Different class of shrimps has their own good parameters to follow, but in general, it should be: PH5.0-6.5, GH3-6, KH0-1, TDS130-180..
7 How often do restart the tank?
Restart / reset of my tank normally i only do it if I notice there is problems with my shrimps. Not really if parameter changes. So if i notice my shrimps are dying or babies cannot survive, then i will check and see what is the reasons and if need to reset my tank, I will.
8 Which foods do you think are the best?
There are so many food now available but right now I am feeding LOWKEYS food.. they are considered to me one of the best food i have used for my last 4 years of shrimp keeping.. haha..
9 Are you adding an enzyme?
Actually enzyme = bacteria.. so yes, i am adding them during water change..
10. How much is a red bee shrimp Singapore PRL / PBL?
Price of a PRL or PBL depends on the quality of the shrimp.. It can range from a normal grade SGD$30/pc to SGD$450/pc, until the most expensive can be approximately SGD$2000/pc..
Regarding LOWKEYS it some time ago, the company hit foods on the market for us, and I question whether this secret food is good? Do it willingly eat shrimp?
Well for LOWKEYS Hiden No Esa (or Secret food) you called it.. It is a food which will greatly enhance the shrimps growth, but it is not widely made to attract shrimps into a shrimp ball effect. When I am feeding them that, yes they do feed on it, but it takes a little longer to finish.
Alvin, thank you again.
Regards
Krzysztof
